FRITZ! releases software updates for Smart Home app and FritzOS
FRITZ! has released significant software updates for its ecosystem, including the FritzApp Smart Home and new beta versions of FritzOS 8.40.
The FritzApp Smart Home update for iOS (version 2.8.0) and Android (version 1.26.0) introduces the ability for users with routers running OS 8.50 or higher to create and edit automation zones. The update also provides online installation instructions for the FRITZ!Smart Thermo 303 and addresses a bug where geofencing automations failed to trigger.
Additionally, FRITZ! has launched beta firmware for eleven different Fritzbox and repeater models. This FritzOS 8.40 update focuses on stability and bug fixes based on user feedback. Key improvements include resolving connection drops in guest Wi-Fi when using iCloud services, enhancing mobile telephony stability with Easybell, and optimizing interoperability with routers from other manufacturers. The update also corrects transmission power issues for the FritzRepeater 1200 AX.
