FritzBox updates eight router models and launches new Wi-Fi 7 6690 Pro
AVM has released a new update for its Fritz-Labor program, affecting eight WLAN router models, including the 7590, 7590 AX, 5690, 5690 Pro, 5690 XGS, 6660, 6670, and 6690. The update introduces a simplified assistant for transferring settings from older devices to new FritzBox models and stabilizes TCP-based number registration via mobile networks for the provider Easybell.
Additionally, the 6660, 6670, and 6690 Cable models receive a specific fix for connection drops occurring in guest Wi-Fi networks when using services like iCloud.
Separately, the new FritzBox 6690 Pro has entered the market. As a cable router, it is the first from the manufacturer to support Wi-Fi 7 across three frequency bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz). While it maintains the physical connectivity of its predecessor, such as DOCSIS 3.1 and a 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port, it features an updated internal chipset to support Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
