Friuli earthquake history commemorated in new book

A new book commemorates the 1976 Friuli earthquake, an event that killed nearly one thousand people and left tens of thousands without homes or livelihoods. The disaster, which occurred on May 6, 1976, was followed by additional destructive tremors in September of the same year.

The publication gathers significant texts, including writings by religious figure David Maria Turoldo, to document the community's resilience and the subsequent reconstruction efforts that became a model for disaster management in Italy.
