Friuli Venezia Giulia expands home healthcare services

Riccardo Riccardi, the regional health assessor, highlighted a significant increase in outpatient and home-based medical services during a medical congress in Udine. Data indicates that integrated home care for individuals over 65 has more than doubled, rising from 17,000 to over 35,000 people.

Additionally, outpatient services have grown from four million to five million, and contracted beds in residential facilities for non-self-sufficient individuals have increased from 7,000 to 8,000. Resources allocated to reduce residential fees have also risen from 70 million to 110 million euros. Riccardi emphasized the importance of strengthening territorial assistance to reserve hospital beds for acute phases, aiming to reduce the burden on patients and families.
