Friuli Venezia Giulia offers up to €650 home insurance grant for weather and catastrophe risks
The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has reopened a 2026 grant that subsidises insurance premiums for residential properties against atmospheric and catastrophic events. Up to €650 can be granted per single dwelling and €1,500 per condominium, with a fixed €50 contribution for weather coverage and a higher share for catastrophic damage – 80 % of the cost for households with an ISEE below €50,000 and 50 % for others. The programme is initially funded with €500,000, with the possibility of additional resources if demand rises.
Applications are accepted from 6 July 2026 until 30 January 2027 via the regional online portal and must be submitted by the insured party or, for condominiums, by the administrator or an appointed co‑owner. The measure, presented by regional assessor Sebastiano Callari, aims to promote preventive insurance, reduce the financial burden of disaster relief, and build on earlier steps after severe events in Mortegliano and the Istrian area. Regional councilor Mauro Di Bert noted that the share of households with catastrophe policies has risen from 3.5 % to 5 % since the scheme’s introduction.
