Frosinone Calcio sold 80% to US fund Clara Vista, president Stirring remains

Italian Serie A club Frosinone Calcio has officially transferred 80% of its shares to the American investment fund Clara Vista in a deal valued at €41.5 million. Founder‑president Maurizio Stirpe will keep the remaining 20% and stay on as club president for at least the next two years, while the fund will control 51% of the club’s infrastructure company.

Clara Vista, already a majority owner of England’s Ipswich Town and an investor in NFL franchises, plans to inject immediate liquidity, boost the first‑team squad, upgrade facilities, expand youth development and introduce data‑driven management. The partnership was signed on 15 June, with closing expected by the end of July. The fund is reported by Forbes to have $250 million in assets and aims to extend its European football footprint, including a future presence in Spain. Stirpe described the arrangement as a “new era” intended to help Frosinone secure its Serie A status.
