Fruit Attraction 2026 to feature potato sector and retail trends

The upcoming Fruit Attraction 2026 trade fair in Madrid will feature the potato as its star product, including the first International Potato Symposium. The brand Princesa Amandine has announced its participation through partners Ibérica de Patatas, Udapa, GV El Zamorano, and Campotec, reporting a total of 28.6 million kilograms sold since the project's inception across 300 hectares of cultivation.

Princesa Amandine aims to use the event to present its 2026-2027 campaign, focusing on innovation and quality. The brand offers various formats, including 1.5 kg mesh bags, 400 g microwave-ready packs, and ‘Quinta Gama’ pre-cooked, vacuum-packed potatoes seasoned with herbs.

In parallel, the sector is analyzing the future of fruit and vegetable retail. Key industry challenges identified include managing supply chains amidst climate change, controlling costs due to inflation, adapting to new consumer habits, and the growing importance of the ‘IV Gama’ convenience segment.
