Fruit industry stakeholders gather at Fruit Attraction Madrid

At the Fruit Attraction Madrid trade fair, Costa Rican agricultural entities Procomer and Corbana showcased national fruit production to international buyers. Procomer provided infrastructure for numerous small-scale vendors to exhibit products, while Corbana utilized its presence to facilitate business negotiations and participate in industry forums to promote the country's agricultural vision.

During the IBO World Blueberry Forum held at the same event, industry experts analyzed global blueberry market trends. The IBO Global Blueberry Report 2026 indicates that world production of highbush blueberries reached 2.33 million tons in 2025. Projections suggest that combined production of fresh and processed blueberries could exceed 3.36 million tons by 2029. However, the report warns of increasing constraints regarding land, water, labor, and production costs, noting that historical cost advantages in certain regions are shifting due to rising input prices and pest pressures.
