Fuel market trends show potential petrol price drops amid diesel supply constraints

Fuel price trends show divergence between petrol and diesel. In the Czech Republic, the Sokolov region offers the lowest prices in the Karlovy Vary region, with petrol averaging 41.26 CZK and diesel at 45.54 CZK. Conversely, the Cheb region has the highest prices in that area. Nationally, the average price for Natural 95 petrol is 41.81 CZK, while diesel has risen to an average of 45.69 CZK.

Market analysts suggest that while falling crude oil prices may lead to cheaper petrol in the coming weeks, diesel prices are expected to remain high. This is due to tight supply in the European distillate market and high refinery margins. Brent crude oil has recently decreased in price as concerns regarding military escalation between the US and Iran have eased, though shipping in the Strait of Hormuz remains limited.
