Fuel prices in India remain stable across major cities

Major Indian oil marketing companies, including IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL, have maintained stable retail prices for petrol and diesel across most major cities on October 10. While prices remain steady in metropolitan areas, variations exist between cities due to differing state-level Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, and dealer commissions.

In major cities, petrol prices range from approximately ₹101.54 in Chandigarh to ₹116.15 in Hyderabad, while diesel prices vary from ₹89.47 in Chandigarh to ₹104.23 in Hyderabad. In Uttar Pradesh, rates in cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, and Noida remain consistent under the state's tax structure.

Retail prices are influenced by international crude oil fluctuations, the USD-INR exchange rate, central excise duties, and state taxes. Some private outlets, such as Nayara Energy, may show higher prices compared to government-run stations.
