Fuel prices in India remain unchanged on September 21
Fuel prices for petrol, diesel, and CNG remained unchanged across major Indian cities on September 21, 2026. Oil marketing companies and natural gas distributors typically revise these rates daily at 6 am.
In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 107.77 per litre and diesel at Rs 99.55 per litre. Other major city rates include New Delhi at Rs 102.12 for petrol and Rs 95.20 for diesel, while Mumbai sees petrol at Rs 111.18 and diesel at Rs 97.83. In Hyderabad, petrol prices reached Rs 115.69 per litre, the highest among the listed cities.
Recent historical data indicates that fuel prices saw cumulative increases of nearly Rs 7.5 per litre starting in mid-May 2026. These hikes were attributed to a surge in global crude oil prices following US-Israeli strikes on Iran and shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
