Romania fuel prices fall on June 17, but station-to-station gaps persist

On June 17, 2026, the average price of standard gasoline in Romania dropped to as low as 8.49 lei per litre, recorded in Reghin, Mureș, while the cheapest diesel was 8.48 lei per litre in Lungulețu, Dâmbovița. In Bucharest, the lowest gasoline price was 8.52 lei/l and the highest 9.68 lei/l, an 11 % spread; diesel ranged from 8.98 lei/l to 9.59 lei/l.

Nationally, the minimum quoted prices remained unchanged from the previous day at 8.52 lei/l for gasoline and 8.63 lei/l for diesel. However, the price gap between stations meant a full 50‑litre tank could cost anywhere between 436 lei and 484 lei for gasoline, a difference of 48 lei, and between 447 lei and 495 lei for diesel. These variations affect households and businesses that depend on vehicle fleets, adding to inflation pressures despite stable minimum price levels.
