The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy drafted a proposal to extend the market crisis situation from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. This measure aims to maintain interventions such as the 25% reduction in the diesel excise tax. Ending this reduction could cause diesel prices to rise by approximately 0.85 lei per liter, potentially increasing the average price to 11.75 lei per liter.

To mitigate supply risks, the government approved a 6.5% salary increase for employees of Oil Terminal, the operator of the largest oil terminal in the Port of Constanta. This decision followed threats of an indefinite general strike starting November 18, which could have impacted at least 50% of Romania's fuel supply.
