Indonesia guarantees subsidized fuel price stability amid rising global oil costs
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has guaranteed that subsidized fuel prices, including Pertalite and Biosolar, will remain stable despite global crude oil prices reaching $107 per barrel. Subsidized Pertalite is maintained at Rp10,000 per liter, while Biosolar remains at Rp6,800 per liter.
In contrast, non-subsidized fuel prices are subject to market mechanisms and are expected to adjust based on monthly global oil price averages. Recent adjustments at the end of September 2026 show significant increases for several non-subsidized products. Pertamina Dex rose to Rp25,200 per liter, Dexlite increased to Rp23,700 per liter, and Pertamax Turbo rose to Rp19,600 per liter. Pertamax Green 95 also saw an increase to Rp19,150 per liter.
To mitigate the impact of geopolitical tensions on energy security, the government is also accelerating domestic oil and gas exploration, targeting the development of fields capable of producing 2,500 to 3,000 barrels per day through 2027 and 2028.
