Fuel prices shift in Slovenia and Italy

Fuel prices in Slovenia underwent changes effective from midnight on October 27, 2026. The Slovenian government announced a decrease in 95-octane gasoline prices by 7.5 cents to 1.627 euros per liter. Conversely, diesel prices rose by 1.2 cents to 1.935 euros per liter, and heating oil increased to 1.558 euros per liter. These rates apply to stations located outside of motorways and expressways.

In Italy, specifically in the Crotone territory, fuel prices remain high. As of October 26, 2026, gasoline prices reached up to 2.199 euros per liter, while diesel prices exceeded 2.40 euros per liter. This high cost comes amid planned demonstrations by Calabrian farmers and transporters in Rome.

The price fluctuations in Slovenia have prompted discussions regarding the cost-effectiveness of refueling in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy, as local average prices for gasoline and diesel remain significantly higher than the new Slovenian rates.
