Fuel price regulatory changes in Croatia, Slovenia and North

Overview

In late October 2026, Croatia, Slovenia, and North Macedonia implemented regulatory changes to petroleum derivative prices based on seven-day market averages and exchange rates.

In Croatia, regulations effective October 27 set gasoline prices to decrease by four cents per liter to 1.69 EUR, while diesel and blue diesel prices were scheduled to increase by one cent per liter. LPG prices also saw a one-cent increase.

In Slovenia, regulated fuel prices at stations outside motorways and expressways underwent similar shifts. Gasoline (95-octane) prices decreased by approximately 7.5 cents to 1.627 EUR per liter, while diesel and heating oil prices rose to approximately 1.935 EUR and 1.558 EUR, respectively. To further mitigate costs, the Slovenian government requested permission from the European Commission to temporarily lower fuel excise duties.

North Macedonia’s Regulatory Commission for Energy and Waterworks (RKE) also announced adjustments effective October 27, decreasing retail prices for petroleum derivatives by an average of 1.89%. Gasoline prices (Eurosuper BS-95 and BS-98) were set to drop by five denars per liter, while diesel prices remained unchanged. Additionally, household extra light oil was scheduled to decrease by 0.50 denars, though heating oil (mazut) prices were expected to increase.
