Fuel tanker overturns on BR-020 highway in Brasília

A fuel tanker overturned on the BR-020 highway near Planaltina in the Distrito Federal on Tuesday night. The accident resulted in the leakage of gasoline and diesel S10 onto the central median of the road.

The Military Fire Brigade of the Distrito Federal (CBMDF) responded to the scene to manage the hazardous materials. To mitigate fire risks, emergency teams used water and foam to cool the trailer. As of Wednesday morning, the highway remained closed in both directions to allow for a controlled transfer of the spilled fuel to another vehicle.

Multiple agencies, including the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the Military Police of the Distrito Federal (PMDF), and the Department of Roads of the Distrito Federal (DER-DF), are assisting with traffic control and the recovery operation. The road will remain closed until the vehicle is removed and safety protocols are completed.
