Fujifilm overtakes Nikon in camera market share

According to the Nikkei Industry Map 2027, the digital camera market has seen a significant reshuffle among major Japanese manufacturers. Fujifilm has overtaken Nikon to become the third-largest camera shipper, ending Nikon's seven-year streak in that position.

Canon maintains its market leadership, increasing its share from 43.2% to 45.7% with unit sales rising from 3.53 million to 4.5 million. Sony remains the second-largest manufacturer for the seventh consecutive year, though its market share declined from 28.5% to 24.6%, with shipments totaling 2.42 million units.

Nikon's unit sales dropped from 960,000 to 880,000, resulting in a market share decrease from 11.7% to 8.9%. Fujifilm's shipments grew to 1.16 million units, representing an 11.8% market share.
