Fujikyu Railway to launch San-X character themed train

Fujikyu Railway will launch the ‘San-X Paradise Commemorative Train’ on September 1, 2026, to celebrate the opening of the ‘San-X Paradise’ area at Fuji-Q Highland. The special service will run on the Fujikyu Line between Otsuki Station and Kawaguchiko Station through February 2027.

The train, utilizing the line’s 90th-anniversary vehicles, will feature original artwork of popular San-X characters, including Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, Tarepanda, and Nyannyan Nyanko, on the exterior doors, headmarks, and interior posters.

To mark the occasion, a campaign will offer original commemorative boarding passes to the first 1,000 passengers disembarking at Fuji-Q Highland Station during three separate phases starting in mid-September 2026. The ‘San-X Paradise’ area, which opened on August 1, 2026, is a 6,500-square-meter themed zone designed around the concept of combining characters, relaxation, and amusement parks.
