Fujitsu to launch AI platform for Japan's financial institutions

Fujitsu Limited announced it will develop the “Uvance for Finance AI Transformation Platform,” a dedicated AI environment for Japanese banks and other financial institutions. Development begins on 1 August 2026 and the platform is scheduled for commercial rollout in March 2027. The solution integrates Fujitsu’s proprietary “Kozuchi Enterprise AI Factory” and a large‑language model called “Takane,” which is tailored to the sector’s legal and operational requirements.

The platform aims to address security concerns, data sovereignty, and the shortage of AI‑skilled personnel by providing trusted AI tools for tasks such as loan screening, document verification, branch‑office operations, compliance and customer service. Fujitsu also plans to foster a co‑creation ecosystem that lets institutions share AI agents and expertise, supporting the broader adoption of generative AI within the Japanese financial sector.
