Fujitsu AI platform for Japanese finance

In late July 2026 Fujitsu Limited announced the development of the “Uvance for Finance AI Transformation Platform,” a dedicated AI environment for Japanese banks and other financial institutions. Development was set to begin on 1 August 2026 with a commercial rollout planned for March 2027. The platform integrates Fujitsu’s “Kozuchi Enterprise AI Factory” and a sector‑specific large‑language model called “Takane,” and is designed to address security, data‑sovereignty and talent‑shortage concerns by offering trusted tools for loan screening, document verification, compliance and customer service.

Two days later Fujitsu highlighted the launch of the AI Data Sovereignty Co‑Creation Organization’s “CODAS” secret‑AI infrastructure, presented alongside senior Japanese officials and global AI firms. CODAS provides an on‑premise, high‑security environment that separates shared models from company‑specific ones, reinforcing Japan’s push for domestically controlled AI. The event also showcased collaborations with Runway and emphasized the broader application of secure AI across industry. Both announcements signal a coordinated effort to boost productivity in Japan’s finance sector while safeguarding sensitive data.
