Fukui food festival launched at Kaisen Atom and Nigiri no Tokube
Sushi chains Kaisen Atom and Nigiri no Tokube have launched the ‘Umainyaza Fukui Festival’ running from October 1 to November 1. The event features regional specialties from Fukui Prefecture, including Gasaebi (Echizen shrimp), Fukui sweet shrimp, Saba no Heshiko (mackerel), and salt-cured sea urchin.
A signature item is the ‘Umainyaza Five-Piece Assortment,’ which includes Gasaebi, Fukui sweet shrimp, grilled Saba no Heshiko, pressed small sea bream sushi, and cod roe gunkan. The initiative is part of an industrial promotion agreement with Fukui Prefecture and aims to support recovery efforts following heavy rain damage in the region in August 2026.
The festival will be available at 48 locations, including 39 Nigiri no Tokube stores and 9 Kaisen Atom stores.
