Fukuoka urban developments: Seiryu Park expansion and Canal City anniversary

Urban development and community events are progressing in Fukuoka, Japan. The Seiryu Riverfront Management Entity announced that the northern promenade and elevated plaza areas of Seiryu Park will open for public use on September 11, 2026. Located along the Nakagawa River, this project aims to connect the Tenjin and Hakata districts. The new areas will feature refreshment spaces, riverside terraces, and several specialized food outlets, including 'COFFEE GALLERY', 'HELLO BREWERY', and the bakery cafe 'dacō Seiryu Park'.

Additionally, Canal City Hakata’s 'CANAL Gourmet Street KUOHKA' will host an anniversary event titled 'Bar Walk Fukuoka Tie-up Anniversary Night' on August 29, 2026. The one-day event offers special menus from various restaurants and the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka’s 'BAR FIZZ'. The celebration will include DJ performances and special guests to mark the venue's first anniversary.
