Seiryu Park waterfront development in Fukuoka
Overview
Fukuoka City is progressing with the development of a new waterfront zone in Seiryu Park along the Nakagawa River. The project aims to connect the Tenjin and Hakata districts through the creation of the North-side Promenade, which will feature a riverside walking path and a “river-bed terrace,” and the Bridge Plaza, an open-air event space on the Spring-kiss Bridge.
Scheduled to open on September 11, 2026, the initial phase will include several food and beverage outlets, such as COFFEE GALLERY, HELLO BREWERY, and a dacō bakery stand. A larger “South-side Plaza” is expected to follow in December 2026 to complete the park’s transformation into a leisure and event hub.
