Brazil's Ministry of Education (MEC) has launched 'Brasil Aprende+', a national strategy designed to transform 2025 Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) results into actionable learning improvements. The initiative involves an eight-stage process including data analysis, priority setting, and action plan development across states, municipalities, and the Federal District.

Recent Ideb data reveals a complex educational landscape. While some regions like Acre have achieved historic highs in their indices, national trends show significant challenges in high school. A study by 'Todos Pela Educação' indicates that many students finish high school with learning levels below basic, particularly in mathematics. Conversely, research from the Instituto Sonho Grande and Instituto Natura suggests that full-time schooling models significantly improve performance, especially for vulnerable students.

To address these disparities, the MEC is conducting technical meetings across the country to foster collaboration between state and municipal networks. The goal is to use pedagogical planning and monitoring to improve learning outcomes without waiting for the next evaluation cycle in 2027.
