Fumiya Takahashi and Akihiro Tsunoda cast in Japanese remake of ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’

Fumiya Takahashi and Akihiro Tsunoda have been cast in the upcoming Japanese drama ‘Minamida Min wa Tensai-gata’ (Minamida Min is a Genius), starring Mana Ashida. The series, scheduled to premiere on October 19 on Kansai TV and Fuji TV, is a Japanese remake of the hit South Korean series ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’.

Takahashi will play Minato Funai, a kind-hearted paralegal at Hirokawa Howard Law Firm who supports the protagonist, a rookie lawyer with autism spectrum disorder. His character eventually becomes the first person the protagonist falls in love with. Tsunoda will portray Makoto Minamida, the protagonist's devoted father who runs an onigiri shop while supporting his daughter's career.

The drama will follow the protagonist as she navigates legal challenges and personal growth through her unique perspective. Following its television broadcast, the series is also set for global distribution on Netflix.
