FUNDESA announces ENADE 2026 focused on security and prosperity
The Foundation for the Development of Guatemala (FUNDESA) has announced the program for the 20th edition of the National Meeting of Businesspeople for Development (ENADE 2026). Scheduled for October 8, 2026, at the Westin Camino Real Convention Center, the event will focus on the theme “A Paso Seguro – Integral security is the path to prosperity.”
The forum aims to address the link between security and economic growth, noting that criminal ecosystems impact approximately 7.7% of Guatemala's GDP. While the country reduced its homicide rate from 31 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2014 to 16 currently, the rate has recently stagnated.
ENADE 2026 seeks to establish a long-term goal of reducing the homicide rate to 8 per 100,000 inhabitants by 2036 through strengthened institutions, effective coordination, and increased investment.
