Funjope approves cultural funding for João Pessoa festivals and artists
The João Pessoa Cultural Foundation (Funjope) has announced two significant cultural funding developments for the city.
First, the project for the Forró Verão 2027 festival has been approved under the federal Lei Rouanet. This approval allows the festival to seek up to R$ 3.38 million in private sector sponsorships through tax incentives. The fourth edition of the festival is expected to feature 40 musical acts, with funds intended for artist fees and event infrastructure such as stages, sound, and lighting.
Additionally, Funjope has released the final results for seven public notices related to the Aldir Blanc National Policy (PNAB). This initiative will distribute R$ 400,000 to local artists and cultural producers. Funjope Executive Director Marcus Alves stated that these measures aim to stimulate the local cultural community and support the city's cultural and tourism development.
