Fuzhou hosts 2026 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum

The 2026 Media Cooperation Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) took place on November 3 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China. Organized by People’s Daily and the Fujian provincial government, the event gathered over 200 foreign delegates from 100 countries and various international organizations, representing 182 media outlets.

The forum, themed “Pursuing Common Understandings and Shared Aspirations along the Belt and Road,” focused on the role of media in strengthening international cooperation and promoting mutual understanding. Participants discussed how media can facilitate political dialogue and communicate development opportunities associated with the BRI.

A key outcome of the forum was the adoption of the Belt and Road Media Cooperation: Fuzhou Initiative. This initiative calls for enhanced cooperation among international media organizations in five specific areas: win-win cooperation, building consensus, content collaboration, embracing technological change, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
