FUZIP inspectors penalize beekeepers in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Federal Agricultural Inspectorate (FUZIP) has intensified inspections within the beekeeping sector across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The oversight aims to prevent irregularities, ensure the proper application of regulations, and guarantee the responsible use of public funds.
In the Una-Sanski Canton (USK), inspectors conducted audits of 16 recipients of financial support from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management, and Forestry for bee colony breeding. The inspections revealed irregularities in 13 cases, specifically regarding the number of reported beehives in possession. As a result, 13 misdemeanor orders were issued.
Beyond individual producers, the inspections also covered the activities of beekeeping associations in all cantons to ensure they are fulfilling obligations such as providing professional assistance, conducting education, and promoting the sector.
