Regulatory inspections in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Overview

Authorities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have conducted various sector-specific inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.

In October 2026, the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) performed 240 inspections across the hospitality, trade, bakery, and construction sectors. These operations resulted in approximately 375,975 KM in fines and the sealing of 44 business premises. Findings included 58 unregistered workers, 10 businesses operating without permits, and numerous instances of taxpayers failing to use fiscal devices. Data showed that 52 percent of inspected taxpayers were not in compliance with valid laws.

Concurrently, the Federal Agricultural Inspectorate (FUZIP) intensified oversight within the beekeeping sector. In the Una-Sanski Canton, audits of 16 recipients of financial support for bee colony breeding revealed irregularities in 13 cases regarding reported beehive numbers, leading to misdemeanor orders. FUZIP also reviewed the activities of beekeeping associations across all cantons to ensure they meet obligations related to professional assistance and education.
