Megasztár talent show launches amid judge disputes and controversy

The new season of the Hungarian talent show Megasztár has launched amidst significant tension and controversy. Much of the early discussion centers on former judge Tóth Gabi, whose absence is felt by both contestants and viewers. New judge Puskás-Dallos Bogi faced backlash for making jokes regarding Gabi’s past, leading to a public apology from the singer to avoid further offending fans.

On-set friction has also emerged between judges Marics Peti and Herceg Erika, resulting in heated verbal exchanges and Marics briefly leaving the studio. Additionally, a chaotic moment occurred during the auditions when the internet personality Bartos Cs. István and his group, the Cretinsek, presented the judges with a gift of fermented, spoiled fruit, causing several judges to flee the studio due to the odor.

While some contestants expressed loyalty to Tóth Gabi, others noted that her departure has changed the dynamic of the competition, with some participants citing her absence as a reason for their increased confidence in performing.
