Gabon implements ministerial changes and environmental ministry split

Gabon has undergone a series of ministerial transitions and structural reorganizations. Edgard Moukoumbi has officially assumed office as the Minister of the Interior, Security, and Decentralization, succeeding Adrien Nguema Mba. Moukoumbi’s priority roadmap focuses on promoting transparency and exemplary conduct within law enforcement, combating transborder crime and various forms of trafficking, and strengthening territorial surveillance and migration control.

In a separate administrative shift, Stephen Olouna Mouba has taken charge of the newly autonomous Ministry of Environment and Climate. This department has been separated from the Ministry of Water and Forests to allow for more concentrated efforts on environmental and climate policies. General Maurice Ntossui Allogo will continue to lead the Ministry of Water and Forests. The reorganization aims to accelerate the implementation of climate objectives set by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
