Gabon launches entrepreneurship funding and digital dialogue initiatives
In Libreville, Gabon, several new initiatives have been launched to support economic development and digital regulation. The Ministry of Commerce, SMEs, and Youth Entrepreneurship has established a partnership with the Société de Garantie du Gabon (SGG) and the microfinance institution Épargne et Développement du Gabon (EDG). This program aims to provide 400 young entrepreneurs with access to financing, utilizing a fund of up to 180 million FCFA through social interest rate credits and guarantees. The initiative includes a year of training and monitoring to foster economic autonomy.
Simultaneously, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Post (ARCEP) has created a new dialogue committee. This body brings together the regulator, service operators, and consumers to improve communication, protect user rights, and address the challenges of rapidly evolving digital services. ARCEP also announced the reactivation of its 1331 call center and the introduction of a dedicated email address to facilitate stakeholder engagement.
