Gabon lawmakers conduct regional tours to brief citizens on new legislation
Gabonese lawmakers are conducting regional tours to provide updates on recent legislative activities. In the 1st arrondissement of Oyem, Deputy Jael Lebeau Mebale M'Ella met with residents in several neighborhoods, including Bouloungou and Mont-Miyele, to discuss the work of the 14th legislature.
M'Ella reported that out of 34 texts examined, 23 were adopted. These include ordinances and bills concerning nationality, land titles, social media regulation, public health (specifically regarding smoking bans), and the creation of a uniform manufacturing company for defense and security forces. The deputy noted these measures align with the political vision of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
Similarly, in the Lékoko department, Deputy Mesmin Boris Ngabikoumou Wada and Senator Chrisos Longho held parliamentary briefings in Bakoumba. Their discussions focused on the impact of recently adopted laws regarding land property, nationality codes, and social media usage. The visit also included participation in a local football tournament to promote community unity.
