Gabon President Oligui Nguema orders acceleration of road projects

Gabon President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema has met with executives from companies responsible for constructing and rehabilitating the national road network to address significant project delays. The President issued firm instructions to contractors to increase the pace of work, implement more rigorous field monitoring, and strictly adhere to technical and quality standards.

Oligui Nguema set an ambitious target to complete these infrastructure projects by 2030, which is two years ahead of the end of his seven-year mandate. The modernization of the road network is a national priority intended to connect remote territories, facilitate the movement of people and goods, support economic recovery, and improve living conditions across provinces including Estuaire, Ogooué-Lolo, Haut-Ogooué, and Nyanga.
