Gabriella Boggiani to testify in Orlandi and Gregori inquiry

A parliamentary commission of inquiry into the 1983 disappearances of Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori in Rome will hear testimony from Gabriella Boggiani on September 24. Boggiani, a friend of Marco Accetti, has previously identified her own voice in an audio recording sent from Boston in late 1983.

In that recording, a demand was made to exchange the two young women for the release of Turkish terrorist Ali Agca. Boggiani stated she recorded the message at the request of Accetti, believing it was a joke or a prank. Accetti, a photographer who has previously claimed involvement in the kidnappings, is currently under investigation by Rome prosecutors regarding the Orlandi case.

The commission aims to clarify Boggiani's knowledge of the events and why Accetti involved her in the recording. While Boggiani is not a suspect and no evidence links her to the actual abduction or detention of the victims, her testimony is viewed as a potential key development in the decades-old investigation.
