GAC Aion launches 2027 i60 SUV with upgraded tech

GAC Aion has launched the 2027 model of its i60 SUV, offering both pure electric and range-extended powertrain options. The new models are priced between 106,800 and 134,800 yuan. Following its release, the vehicle reportedly secured over 5,000 orders within the first three hours.

The 2027 update focuses on what the company calls the “three major technological components”: battery, electric drive, and intelligent assisted driving. The pure electric versions feature batteries from CATL, with the highest range reaching 700 km. The range-extended version utilizes a Huawei DriveONE electric drive system, offering a combined range of up to 1,738 km and a pure electric range of 350 km.

In terms of intelligent driving, the i60 is equipped with 27 perception sensors, including a 192-line LiDAR. The software utilizes an end-to-end model derived from WeRide’s L4 autonomous driving technology. This strategic upgrade aims to extend the product lifecycle of the i60, which has maintained monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units for six consecutive months.
