GAC Aion UT electric hatchback expands availability in Australia and New Zealand
GAC is expanding its electric vehicle presence in Oceania with the Aion UT, a compact electric hatchback. In New Zealand, the model is available with a 60kWh LFP battery, providing a claimed WLTP range of 430km and a 0-100km/h time of 7.3 seconds. The entry-level model is priced at $39,990, while the Lux grade adds features like a panoramic roof and powered tailgate for an additional $4,000.
In Australia, GAC has confirmed that a more affordable variant of the Aion UT will join the lineup by the end of 2026. This new model grade is expected to undercut the current starting price of $31,990. The expansion aims to compete with existing electric hatches such as the BYD Dolphin, MG4 Urban, and the Geely EX2.
