GAC expands electric vehicle lineup with Aion Ray 7 and UT updates
GAC is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with new developments for the Aion Ray 7 and Aion UT models.
The Aion Ray 7 is a large electric sedan being prepared for launch in China. Designed with a focus on comfort, it features autonomous driving technology similar to robotaxis, utilizing 27 sensors including a Huawei LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radars. The vehicle is expected to use a CATL LFP battery, providing approximately 700 km of range under the CLTC cycle. It is positioned as a more comfortable alternative to high-performance models like the Xiaomi SU7.
Meanwhile, a new version of the Aion UT, named the 530 CATL Edition, has been unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show in China. This updated configuration increases the driving range from 420 km to 530 km through an improved battery. The new edition also includes additional features such as a driver's seat heater and trunk lighting. While the Aion UT has seen significant sales in the Brazilian market since its June launch, GAC has not yet confirmed if this higher-range version will be made available in Brazil.
