GACKT legal drama Black Trick faces low viewership ahead of finale

The Fuji TV legal drama ‘Black Trick: The Lawyer Who Manipulates Judgment’, starring GACKT, is approaching its final episode. The series follows a skilled lawyer who uses lies to uncover the truth and protect his clients.

Despite a star-studded cast including Kazuki Kitamura, Mikie Shida, and Fuju Kamio, the series has faced significant challenges with viewership. Ratings have remained low throughout its run, with household viewership figures frequently dipping below 5%. The show is projected to rank as one of the lowest-rated programs in the history of the ‘Getsu 9’ time slot. Additionally, digital engagement on platforms like TVer has shown a decline in interest leading up to the finale.

Critics have noted that the series may have lost momentum after resolving its primary antagonist—a powerful politician—in the penultimate episode. The final episode is expected to feature guest appearances by artists such as Yoshiki, Kiriuin Sho, and Ano, potentially serving as an epilogue to the main storyline.
