Gadi Iznakut's Yesh Atid leads Likud in Israeli election poll

A new poll for a possible Knesset election shows the Yesh Atid party, headed by Gadi Iznakut, ahead of Likud with an estimated 23 seats to Likud's 22. The opposition bloc would hold 57 seats, while the governing coalition would have 49, and Arab parties 10. If a new party formed by Benny Gantz, former minister Yuli Shaked, ex‑Likud member Yuli Edelstein and retired officer David Simchi were to run, the poll projects it would win about four seats, insufficient to shift the balance of power.

The poll also measured leadership preferences: 45% of opposition voters said Iznakut should lead the opposition, 25% favored Naftali Bennett, and 44% preferred Bennett over incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the premiership. Iznakut received 48% support against Netanyahu in a head‑to‑head comparison.
