Gagnef municipal elections: Social Democrats overtake Center Party

In the municipal elections in Gagnef, the Center Party (Centerpartiet) experienced the largest decline among all participating parties, losing 2.4 percentage points compared to the 2022 election. This shift allowed the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterna) to overtake them as the largest party in the municipality with 20.5 percent of the vote.

Despite the loss in support, both parties maintained the same number of mandates. Local councilor Fredrik Jarl attributed some of the losses in specific areas, such as Björbo, to the closure of a care and nursing home and local debates regarding wind power. Negotiations are expected to follow to determine the composition of the next local government.
