GAHAR accredits 32 healthcare facilities across 12 Egyptian governorates

The General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) has approved the accreditation and renewal of accreditation for 32 healthcare facilities across 12 Egyptian governorates. The decisions follow GAHAR standards and involve a diverse range of providers, including facilities under the General Authority for Healthcare, the Ministry of Health and Population, university hospitals, and the private sector.

Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of GAHAR, stated that these decisions expand the geographic reach of quality and patient safety standards. The accredited regions span from North Sinai, Matrouh, and Alexandria in the north, through Cairo, Giza, Fayoum, Minya, Dakahlia, Damietta, and Ismailia, to Luxor and Aswan in the south.

Among the renewed accreditations are several family medicine units in Ismailia, such as Fayid, Al-Zahiriyah, and Al-Mahsama Al-Qadima, as well as units in Luxor. Dr. Taha emphasized that accreditation is not a one-time certificate but a continuous cycle of commitment, evaluation, and performance improvement intended to enhance citizen trust in healthcare services.
