Gala workers approve new labor agreement and end protests

Workers at the Gala plant in Burgos have approved a new collective bargaining agreement, leading to the cancellation of planned protests and strikes scheduled for October. The agreement, which will remain in effect for the next two years, includes wage increases that are “slightly higher” than the actual inflation rate for each fiscal year.

Additionally, the deal establishes that early retirements will be voluntary, allowing employees over the age of 62 to choose to leave the company. This resolution follows a period of industrial conflict that began in late September, during which workers protested against perceived differences in treatment compared to other plants within the Roca Group.
