Galicia hospitals launch major infrastructure upgrades worth €22 million

The new Building C of the Santiago de Compostela University Hospital Complex (CHUS) has been completed after a €22 million investment, adding roughly 5,000 m² across five floors. The expansion will host an in‑vitro fertilisation unit, a dedicated breast centre, a day‑hospital, ENT services, pain management and anaesthesia facilities, plus flexible spaces and a central patio that improves internal navigation. Although construction is finished, final regulatory checks, equipment installation and legal authorisation are still pending before the building can become operational.

Meanwhile, the Ourense University Hospital (CHUO) is set to acquire two portable radiology arches for €328,830. The equipment will enhance cardiac and surgical procedures, enabling device implantation, pacemaker placement, cardioversion and image‑guided interventions across several specialties. The public tender remains open until 10 August, after which the new technology will be installed to improve patient care in the region.
