Galician authorities face pressure over public transport service failures

Public transportation services in Galicia are facing scrutiny due to service failures and management issues. The BNG political group has urged the Xunta de Galicia to intervene in Lugove, the company managing interurban transport in O Baixo Miño and O Val Miñor. The party cites continuous breaches of collective bargaining agreements and criticizes the current transport plan for being poorly dimensioned, leading to overcrowding on routes such as the Baiona to Vigo line.

Simultaneously, the Valedora do Pobo has requested reports from the Xunta regarding widespread complaints in the O Salnés region. This action follows reports of passengers being left behind due to overcapacity on lines connecting O Grove and Pontevedra. The institution is investigating whether the regional government is adequately supervising concession compliance and whether service frequencies and reinforcements need urgent revision to address long-standing user dissatisfaction.
