Galician businesses report mixed summer activity and spending trends

Commercial activity in the Arousa region of Galicia is experiencing a mixed summer season. While some municipalities report steady activity, others note that the summer campaign is performing worse than in previous years. In Cambados, local merchants suggest that weather conditions have influenced shopping patterns, with high temperatures driving people toward beaches and delaying town center activity until later in the evening.

In a different development within the region, the 2026 edition of the Outlet del Comercio Ortegano in Ortigueira was reported as a success. Organized by the local government in collaboration with ACO Ortigueira and the Xunta de Galicia, the event aimed to boost local consumption. This edition expanded its scope by including service sectors such as hair salons and mechanical workshops alongside traditional retail.
