Galician cities increase Christmas lighting budgets

Several cities in Galicia are increasing their budgetary allocations for Christmas lighting to expand festive displays. Lugo has awarded a new contract worth approximately 216,000 euros plus VAT, representing an increase of over 60% compared to the previous year. The city plans to introduce more three-dimensional luminous elements and a large walkable structure in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, with the lights scheduled to be turned on on December 4.

Pontevedra is also increasing its investment by 25%, with a budget of around 230,000 euros aimed at expanding holiday decorations across more neighborhoods. While cities like Lugo, Pontevedra, and Ourense are raising their spending, Vigo remains the leader in the region, allocating approximately 2.4 million euros for its holiday lighting.
