Galician court rules in favor of shipyard worker dismissed after dispute

A worker at a shipyard in Ferrol, Galicia, has won a legal dispute against his employer following a disciplinary dismissal. The incident began after an altercation with a colleague led the employee to leave his post without notice.

Following the initial departure, the site manager and the employee had reached an agreement for three additional days of leave. However, the employee subsequently reported to a different work site where he was not assigned and could not perform his duties, leading to a second departure from the premises. The employer subsequently issued a disciplinary dismissal, which the High Court of Justice of Galicia has now ruled upon.
